12.30pm ~ 16th May ~ £8 (£7)

Five hundred years ago, at the age of 67, the illegitimate son of a Florentine notary died . . . but not before he had changed the world of art, architecture, anatomy, and science. In the intervening centuries, his name, his work, and his legacy have lived on. He has become the most famous person in the history of world visual culture.
In his latest lushly-illustrated book, author, curator, broadcaster, and Emeritus Professor in the History of Arts at the University of Oxford, Martin Kemp looks at 100 key Leonardo da Vinci milestones across his works of art, anatomy, architecture, engineering, and science.

Spoken words disappear like smoke in the wind, while writing records and preserves aspects of life as it flies by. Film does too, perhaps even more so, as it uses images and sounds, as well as words! To celebrate its 45th year of making and showing films in and about Swindon, one of Britain’s longest-running and most innovative access TV service, Swindon Viewpoint, presents a fabulous selection of short films reflecting how we live and who we are: a special pick of informative, heart warming, and sometimes challenging films made by or about us.

DOUBLE TICKET for Swindon Viewpoint and Swindon Creative Network ~ £10

CREATIVE SWINDON NETWORK – question time and launch party!

Arts Centre, Devizes Road, Swindon SN1 4BJ

8pm ~ 16th May ~ £5 (concessions available)

Culturally, what’s actually going on in Swindon in terms of arts, crafts, and performances?

What would you like to see happen? Who is making things happen?  Any other questions?
At the start of this year, thanks to the energy, enterprise, and enthusiasm of a passionate few Swindonians and their awareness of an Arts Council England fund for Creative People & Places, a few people interested in the arts in Swindon got together and got active. Soon, numbers grew! The result is the newly-formed Creative Swindon Network, which, as its name implies, wants to network with people who want to be creative and help the arts thrive, in Swindon.
If you are someone who likes creating, making, or enjoying the arts and cultural activities in Swindon, and you want to help make more things happen, this is an evening for you.
There will be some entertainment, a panel of key people, and plenty of time to ask questions and discuss answers. Also, we will raise a glass to a successful launch of the Creative Swindon Network!
